Indonesian Inclusive & Exclusive “We”

Tenth graders learn a feature English can’t show — Indonesian has TWO words for “we.” Kita INCLUDES the person you’re talking to; kami LEAVES them out. “Kita makan yuk!” = let’s eat (you too); “Kami sudah makan” = we ate (not you). They sort situations by which “we” fits.
