Indonesian Proverbs

Eleventh graders explore Indonesian proverbs (peribahasa) — short sayings full of wisdom, like “Sedikit demi sedikit, lama-lama menjadi bukit” (little by little becomes a hill) and “Bersakit-sakit dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian” (endure hardship first, enjoy later). Proverbs open a window into Indonesian values.
