Bengali Months

Sixth graders learn the months of the traditional Bengali calendar — Boishakh (বৈশাখ), Joishtho (জ্যৈষ্ঠ), Ashar (আষাঢ়), Srabon (শ্রাবণ), Bhadro (ভাদ্র)… The Bengali year begins in Boishakh (mid-April) with Pohela Boishakh, the Bengali New Year! Mash (মাস) means month. They put the first months in order.
