Polish Months

Sixth graders learn the months in Polish (miesiące) — styczeń (January), luty (February), marzec (March), kwiecień (April), maj (May)… up to grudzień (December). Unlike most European languages, Polish month names are native Slavic words (not from Latin) — e.g. listopad (November) means “leaf-fall”! They put the first months in order.
