Hebrew The Root System

Ninth graders discover the hallmark of Hebrew — the root system (שורש). Most words grow from a 3-letter root: from כ-ת-ב (writing) come כתב (wrote), כותב (writes), מכתב (letter), and כתובת (address). Spotting roots unlocks vocabulary fast.
