Ninth graders learn ordinal numbers in Persian — avval (اول, first), dovvom (دوم, second), sevvom (سوم, third), chahârom (چهارم, fourth), panjom (پنجم, fifth). Except for “avval,” they’re made with the ending “-om.” Students put them in order and say rankings.
